Dr. A. Kheir Law & Arbitration Center (AKLAC) is an independent non governmental institution. The decision to establish AKLAC was based on the increasing significance of commercial arbitration within the new Egyptian arbitration Law no.27/1994 and internationally, which seemed to justify the need for forming an independent institute to collate and further pursue knowledge on arbitration as well as to promote arbitration as a training institute for arbitration and an information center on national and international arbitration.

AKLAC has published a quarterly legal publication (ARBITRATION & LAW) in Jan, April, July and October.

AKLAC organized, over the years significant conferences in Cairo for International Commercial Arbitration in which law professors from Europe, Egypt and Arab countries lectured. The participants, in addition to the Egyptian entities, were from Arab countries such as the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.

AKLAC desires to cooperate with international arbitration associations and centers in the above mentioned activities which represents the common objectives of arbitration worldwide.

Organizing international conferences, training seminars and symposiums in the fields of law - in general- and international and local commercial arbitration and all relative means like conciliation, negotiation and alternative disputes resolution “mediation”.

Spreading and upgrading the principles, rules and procedures of Arbitration as a mean of setting disputes that arise among private or public legal entities within international and domestic levels.

Providing legal and technical assistance to Arbitrators working in ad-hoc and institutional Arbitrations.

Publishing quarterly legal publication “Arbitration & Law”, preparing a comprehensive bibiotheque and an update data bank in trilingual (Arabic, English & French) for economic legislations in general and, commercial international legislations in particular.

Preparing new generation of International Arbitrators to settle international commercial disputes through training seminars and workshops aiming at promoting their cultural capabilities.

Contacting and coordinating with national and regional arbitration centers in the Mediterranean countries to submit specialized services to litigants from those countries in general and Arab countries in particular.

Following up researches and new trends relating to Arbitration for the Arbitrator to be well prepared and to respect his profession and its ethics as well.

Assist in enforcing the national and international arbitral awards in Egypt.

Preparing domestic and international list of arbitrators from among judges, advocates, law professors and technicians from all specializations.
